Launching a two-sided marketplace in Saudi Arabia

The short answer

I launch Saudi marketplaces by building supply and demand in order: merchants and products first, then buyers. Boutiqaat Abaya, an abaya marketplace, went from a logo and an empty Odoo to 47 live merchants and 272 products, with its first buyer test on SAR 2,270 of spend.

Where it usually goes wrong

Marketplaces fail when they buy traffic for a catalog that isn't there yet. Merchant acquisition needs its own funnel, offer and tracking, separate from the buyer campaigns that come after.

What you get

  1. 01A merchant acquisition funnel with its own offer and forms
  2. 02Onboarding that gets products live, not just sign-ups
  3. 03A buyer test once the catalog is deep enough to convert
  4. 04Tracking for both sides: merchants, products, forms and WhatsApp
